About PICM
Phoenix Integrative Concierge Medicine (PICM) — built by physicians
who believe you deserve better.
Phoenix Integrative Concierge Medicine (PICM) is a membership-based primary care practice in the Arcadia neighborhood of Phoenix, Arizona. Founded by two board-certified physicians with deep roots in the Phoenix medical community, Phoenix Integrative Concierge Medicine (PICM) was created to deliver the kind of unhurried, personalized, evidence-based care that the traditional insurance-driven model makes nearly impossible.
With specialized expertise in connective tissue disorders, autonomic dysfunction, Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (EDS), Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS), and Mast Cell Activation Syndrome (MCAS) — conditions that are frequently misdiagnosed or underserved — Phoenix Integrative Concierge Medicine (PICM) offers something genuinely rare: a primary care physician who has both the time and the knowledge to actually help.

Our Philosophy
Medicine the way it should be practiced.
At Phoenix Integrative Concierge Medicine (PICM), we operate on a simple belief: great medicine requires time, trust, and a physician who knows you as a whole person — not a chart, not a billing code, and not a 10-minute appointment slot. Our concierge model exists to remove the barriers that get in the way of that.
Evidence-Based, Not Assumption-Based
Every care decision is grounded in current clinical evidence and tailored to your individual history, biology, and goals.
Integrative & Connective
We coordinate across specialties so nothing falls through the cracks. One physician, overseeing the full picture.
Thorough By
Design
We don't rush diagnoses or settle for surface-level answers. If something is going on, we want to understand why.

Aspen Calkins, DO
Dr. Calkins grew up on a remote farm outside Grants Pass, Oregon — an upbringing that gave her an appreciation for self-sufficiency, hard work, and paying close attention to things that matter. She went on to earn her biology degree from Santa Clara University, where she also served as a volunteer EMT and worked as a river guide on the Deschutes River. She graduated with honors from Midwestern University College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2012 and completed a residency in Family Medicine at Banner University Medical Center in Phoenix.
Dr. Calkins has been in private practice since 2016 and holds academic appointments at both the University of Arizona College of Medicine and Midwestern University School of Medicine. She brings a deeply thorough, evidence-based approach to every patient encounter — and a genuine commitment to understanding the full picture rather than settling for the easy answer.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Calkins enjoys cooking, gardening, and time with her husband Dr. Scott Marquard and their four-legged crew: three German Shepherd mixes (Roman, Zara, and Fauci) and two cats (David and Alexis).

Scott Marquard, DO
Dr. Marquard grew up in the Pacific Northwest before trading rain for sunshine and putting down roots in Phoenix — a decision he's never looked back on. He earned his medical degree from Midwestern University in Glendale, Arizona in 2012 and completed his residency in Family Medicine at the University of Arizona in downtown Phoenix. He holds adjunct faculty appointments at both Midwestern University and the University of Arizona.
Known for being thorough and efficient with patients, Dr. Marquard brings a practical, no-nonsense approach to care that patients consistently appreciate. He believes in getting things right — and getting them done — without unnecessary complexity.
When he's not seeing patients, Dr. Marquard can usually be found on the golf course, behind a smoker, or spending time with his wife Dr. Aspen Calkins and their shared menagerie of pets.

Our Founding Story
Built around the patients who needed it most.
After more than a decade serving the Glendale, Arizona, community at Thunderbird Family Medicine — where they continue to practice today — Dr. Calkins and Dr. Marquard recognized a consistent gap: patients with complex, often misunderstood conditions who needed more than the traditional model could offer.
Phoenix Integrative Concierge Medicine (PICM) exists for patients who need more: more time, more access, more clinical depth. Particularly those navigating complex and often misunderstood conditions like Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (EDS), Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS), Mast Cell Activation Syndrome (MCAS), and autonomic dysfunction — conditions that don't respond well to rushed, fragmented care. Phoenix Integrative Concierge Medicine (PICM) is their answer to that need — a limited-panel practice built around the kind of thorough, integrative, coordinated care that genuinely changes outcomes.
